Shall we start with introducing our CITs’ (counselor in Training) this year, hm?

Hey guys it’s me Iyanni, back again but this time as a head C.I.T. Yay! Last year I had such a good time I had to run it back and come back for year 2 as a C.I.T and my 3rd year coming to Camp Phoenix. 💜💜

Camp was a really fun experience for me so I promised to come back for another year. Some ask “Yanni why did you want to come back?” Well, I wanted to come back because I loved all the people I worked with and I just had a really good time. Being a counselor-in-training helps me learn how to work with other campers and build better connections with them. Maybe one day I’ll want to work with kids, and this helps me get ready for that by teaching me stuff I’ll need, since working with kids can be kinda hard sometimes. Also, I’d love to be a chef so I’ll be helping the cook during our camping at China Camp. I won’t go on and on, so now I want to introduce you to my bestie but also my co-CIT. So now we welcome Aroyal!!!

HEYYY, Thank you to my co-CIT, Iyanni and as she said, I’m Aroyal. Not gonna lie ya’ll, it’s lowkey my first time here with Camp Phoenix and basically my first time going camping at all. I’m being so serious when I say that I’ve been a nervous wreck about all this, being away from home, from family, etc, etc. So stressful omg… But I am positive this’ll do me good! Giving me experience with handling kids, their emotions and yatta yatta it will be helpful for my career as a child psychologist!! 😝

But, y’know now that I’m here, I can say it’s not as bad as I thought it would be. The staff and counselors here are so nice, understanding, and really fun to hang out with. There are a bunch of things to do here. The kids this year are very energetic and oh so very wild. Some are chill and dare I say… nonchalant. It really just shows how excited they are to be in the Camp Phoenix family! (That just makes everything seem so worth it, I’m so freaking excited.)🥳

To wrap up this part of our blog, ya’ll should totally follow us on instagram @campphoenix and share our posts so the word gets out and to get a lil sneak peak of what we do here.

Don’t be shy now, tell your family and friends! Your support would be very appreciated!
